Social Media Check-list

Social media marketing refers to the process of gaining traffic or attention through social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

The ability to share photos, reviews and events in an instant has transformed the way we live and the way we do business. Businesses who use these powerful tools as part of their multi-channel marketing strategy can measure the results and fine-tune their approach. But it’s no good just pinging things out online, the key to successful social media is to treat it with the same care, respect, and attention you do all of your marketing efforts. Ensure that you have a timely and targeted approach. We’ve produced a check-list to help you do this.

DAILY

  • Reply to incoming messages
  • Check alerts for brand mentions and respond as needed
  • Monitor for untagged mentions and related keywords and respond as needed
  • Remember to tag and share content with key influencers and advocates of your brand

 

WEEKLY

  • Plan content and schedule posts according to effective times of the day
  • Work on original content: blogs, video, photos and text
  • Engage with active followers and fans
  • Check analytics – monitor engagement, reach and followers

 

MONTHLY

  • Check current trending topics for keywords, particular language and events to include in your comms
  • Monitor competitor platforms for ideas, responses, trends

 

QUARTERLY

  • Review new strategies – integrate winning attempts and discard those that didn’t get results

 

ANNUALLY

  • Review analytics annually and consider needed adjustment to scheduling, topics
  • Consider strategy changes for paid and organic audiences
  • Consider brand messaging and adjust as needed
  • Research platform development, growth and losses
