Planit Scotland

Planit Scotland gear up for Scottish Celebrations!

The team at Planit Scotland are delighted to be working with Brodie Castle on their upcoming St. Andrews Celebration which takes tomorrow from 11am (Saturday 30th November)

Did you know that St. Andrew was known for being a generous and humble man, and because of this he was celebrated around the world for his kindness and compassion?

To mark this special day, Brodie Castle will be holding an event which pays homage to the altruistic spirit of St. Andrews!  Visitors will be given the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the stunning Castle and grounds, by way of a donation of their choice.

Additionally, while touring the castle, attendees will be able to stop and speak to a variety of local charities along the way.  This is a great opportunity to hear more about the important work these organisations are carrying out, and what you can do to help.

Charities in attendance include Barnardo’s, Highland Hospice, Friends of Autism Highland, the ARCHIE Foundation, MikeysLine, Safe Strong & Free, Moray Food Plus, Clarity Walks, Moray School Bank, Marie Curie, Munlochy Animal Aid and SiMBA.

Each charity will be offering something unique at their stall such as information, face painting, a selfie photo booth and sales of bespoke Christmas cards.

We are encouraging attendees – who are in the position to do so – to bring along a donation to support a charity on the day. Let’s work together on an area-wide charity drive and show our appreciation for the help these charities provide!

Suggested donations include:
Long-life food such as tinned meat, tinned spaghetti, and biscuits for Moray Food Plus; warm jackets, tights, gloves, hats and socks for school children on behalf of Moray School Bank; new toys or gifts (unwrapped) that can be gifted to children for Christmas day via the MFR Mission Christmas appeal; and blankets and food for Munlochy Animal Aid.

Ben Hinnie of Stories By The Way, will be hosting a ‘Stories of Speyside’ session, and there will be a children’s themed story time and song session.

But that is not all, Planit Scotland and Brodie Castle are working alongside Inverness College UHI on a number of projects this Winter, including St. Andrews day.

On this occasion, students have been working closely with charities Safe Strong & Free and Clarity Walks to create brand new interactive workshops that showcase what these charities are about.

Additionally, there will be themed arts and crafts available such as creating Nessie paper puppets, and woolly sheep weaving.

So, if you are looking for something to do this Saturday, join us and celebrate the true spirit of Scotland, and show your support for local charities at a time of year which can prove difficult for many.
