Planit Scotland

Maximise Your LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a growing platform with 2 professionals joining every second. With this much reach, it is important for businesses to get involved, however, there is a knack to doing LinkedIn well. And that’s where Planit Scotland can come in. Recently, we’ve been noticing that a lot of clients have first spotted us on the platform, so it must be doing something right! So, we want to help you help yourself and get you to maximise your LinkedIn profile.

30 million companies currently have LinkedIn profiles and with 80% of B2B leads being generated on social media coming from LinkedIn, you need to get involved. It’s not as easy as just clicking through the motions, you need to make yourself stand out, stick with your brand and have an objective with what you would like to gain from the platform.

There are some simple tips on how you can start off your profile in the right way. The platform itself recognises that personal profiles who are making the most of the website have a professional photo, a stand-out Headline and recommendations from past colleagues, managers and associates. The best LinkedIn profiles are full of information, but it’s important to add images or documents to your experiences as we all know things that are too ‘wordy’ can be uninspiring to read. It’s also great to use the Summary as a place to mention 5-6 of your biggest achievements – making this the opportunity to show people where you really shine!

LinkedIn themselves state that there are many benefits to having your company involved in this great network. Not only is it an opportunity to showcase your company and your specialist services, your employees who are also online act as indirect ambassadors for your business. Your updates are measurable, so you can understand what has or has not been effective, ensuring that you are promoting your most important – and relevant – news. And you can be alerted when someone is talking about YOUR business.

LinkedIn is the current leader in steering traffic to businesses own webpages, with an impressive 46% of social traffic to corporate websites coming from the site, so it’s safe to say it’s a great starting point for generating more interest. With LinkedIn developing 3x more conversations than Twitter and Facebook, it should be part of your marketing plan. However, at Planit, we understand that our clients are far too busy to be adding another social media site to their portfolio. But remember, that’s what we’re here for! We can help create that brilliant content to share along with the rich, eye-catching visuals. We can help you to get engagement on your posts and generate interest in your business – and maintain that engagement! We are here to think creatively in ways relevant to your industry and we understand what makes a post on LinkedIn grab the audience’s attention.

So, if you’ve been thinking about joining LinkedIn and don’t really know where to start, #JustAskPlanit!
