Loch Ness Knit Fest Returns!

Here at Planit Scotland, we love events.

Loch Ness Knit Fest is one of our signature annual events and it’s grown from strength to strength over the past three years. It’s a celebration of all things yarn and brings people to the area from all over the world. We have just published the full programme for Loch Ness Knit Fest 2019. On October 16th– 20th the Inverness Leisure Centre will be transformed into a knitter’s paradise.

Some of the programme highlights include:

  • A 5-day programme with over 20 workshops
  • More than 60 vendors in the marketplace
  • Various demonstrations
  • Mainstage entertainment
  • Sightseeing Tours
  • Evening events such as the Highland Feast, ceilidh and knit along with Danish Designer Christel Sayfarth!

There will also be a range of teachers sharing their expertise and inspiration at the event. Here are a few to look out for:

  • Elizabeth Johnston who teaches spinning and knitting.
  • John Glen will be teaching an introduction to brioche.
  • Deborah Gray will be teaching how to design and knit colour work bunting and how to knit 2 socks at the same time!
  • Hazel Tindall will be holding an introduction to Fair Isle Yokes class.
  • Stephanie Hoyle will be teaching an introduction to Gansey knitting.
  • Tania Ashton will be conducting her sell-out class in Dorset Buttony tequniques.
  • Amy Davidson, from Fluff ventures North to talk about painting with wool.

On top of all of this, our marketplace will provide festival-goers with lots to see, as well as allowing them to stock up on their favourite yarn of course!
