We’re recruiting!

Planit Scotland – Marketing & Communications Officer

At Planit Scotland, we aim to be the number one choice for excellence. We have a very knowledgeable team who work hard and love what they do. We’re passionate about seeking out opportunities and delivering solutions for our clients. The breadth of experience within our team means that we’re constantly learning and sharing ideas for continuous development of our services. 90% of our work comes from referrals which is a really great position to be in. We have grown organically and steadily over the past five years, which leads us to explore the market for more talent!

As an experienced, energised and driven marketing and PR professional, you’ll deliver outstanding content and campaigns that raise the profile of our clients. You will create and lead marketing and communications solutions for a variety of clients in a wide range of industries. Your talent and dynamic approach will help us in continuing to make Planit Scotland’s mark in Scotland.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Networking and collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Planning, developing and implementing effective marketing campaigns
  • Writing effective copy for all marketing collateral, including websites, social media posts and blogs
  • Create compelling content for online and offline campaigns
  • Reviewing analytics and reporting on activity to ensure targets are met
  • Social media management and scheduling
  • Updating websites – using WordPress
  • Researching and reporting on external and internal opportunities
  • Proactive PR and communications, sharing good news stories and dealing with press enquiries, drafting quotes as required
  • Preparation and distribution of email marketing campaigns – using Mailchimp
  • Produce artwork for adverts and other materials, liaising with external agencies as necessary
  • Event management

You’ll be an ambassador for Planit Scotland, attending networking events and business meetings to build your network. It is expected that you will be a self-starter, taking the initiative and responsibility to effectively manage your priorities as well as the needs of our clients.

About our team
You will be part of our small but fabulous team, who are super passionate about our professions, and taking our skills to the next level. We’re not just a team, we’re a ‘work family’. All of us genuinely want to know what each of us are up to and how we can support each other.

Working hours
We tend to work 9am-5pm weekdays but we can work with you to agree the working hours and your working pattern. While we are keen to make sure you are available to attend at times that matter to us, it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours! However, in exchange for our flexibility, we will require the same flexibility in return from you. There may be events which require weekend or evening work, however this will be allocated fairly across the team.

About you
You’re a creative and dynamic writer, with a true passion for delivering solutions. As an engaging and confident communicator, you have an eye for a news hook and the ability to generate PR opportunities. You’ll have a wealth of practical media and PR experience and have a keen interest in what’s going on in the world. Oh, and you’ll instinctively know what makes a journalist tick!

Technically, it would be great if you had the right certificates, however we appreciate that you might have some great transferrable skills and would therefore be keen to hear from all committed PR professionals with relevant professional experience.

Here at Planit Scotland we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which will include a laptop and mobile. So it’s really important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

You’ll be office based for the majority of your time, but as you’re helping us to raise our profile within Scotland, you’ll spend some time with clients who are slightly further afield. All these days away will be agreed in advance and travel expenses are covered.

To apply
Don’t delay in applying for this brilliant job, as we may close it early if we get lots of applications! Apply here, by submitting your CV and covering letter (don’t forget to attach this, as we really want to know more about you!) by Friday the 19th of April.
