FSB – Business & Product Innovation Award Finalist

We’ve reached the Scottish finals of the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards. Our team are in the running for the Business & Product Innovation Award and are the only business north of the central belt to reach the finals for this category. The Awards will take place in Edinburgh on the 21st February.

In FSB First Voice magazine it was reported that business ‘owners hang on too long before hiring’, with 63% nervous about the responsibility of becoming a manager and 18% stressing about employing the wrong person. Our team have addressed this and reinvented traditional PA support. We provide organisations with a service so that businesses can book support as and when they need it, without the worry of having to recruit and train. We act as an extension to the business team, they are briefed and get through the to-do-list while building a rapport with current employees and stakeholders. At the end of a day with a client, we provide a summary of the work completed and next steps. This means that businesses see the progress and realise the potential with efficient support. A number of businesses such as Inverness Airport, Harry Gow Bakery and the Caledonian Sleeper use our services on a weekly basis and others on a more adhoc basis. Whatever form it takes, the innovative approach to helping clients is a creative process and has helped to establish new partnerships, improve productivity and build the Planit Scotland brand.

The reason that Planit Scotland’s specialist support is a pioneering model and innovative in our market is because the services aren’t limited to a particular sector or delivered on a project by project basis. A number of our competitors offer digital marketing support or web design but don’t necessarily get the experience of working ‘on the ground’ with the client, literally powering through the to-do-list whereby you get a much better understanding and often see further opportunities. In terms of relationship building, a great level of trust is built up and it’s a personalised service. The businesses quickly get to know our team and realise that they can deliver in more than one business area, be it marketing and communications, sales or administrative support. The breadth of experience that our team have gained while working with such a variety of businesses means that they are incredibly well connected and can draw upon experts outside the usual networks. Best-practice is regularly shared and our team can refer to endless case studies whereby they’ve maximised opportunity by collaboratively bringing together a number of clients for mutual gain.

By offering the flexible solution for businesses, with a pitch of helping ‘to get through the to do list’, Planit Scotland has become more approachable, helpful and able to connect the dots while working with businesses. The number of clients has increased to 30 and 2018/19 has also seen Planit Scotland not only offering services within the Highlands and Islands but to servicing clients throughout the UK.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for ahead of the awards at the end of this month but even being a finalist has spurred us on! If you’d like to know more about how Planit Scotland could help your business, get in touch info@planitscotland.com.
