Don’t Leave Your Customers In The Dark This Christmas

Whether it’s finding the perfect £5 gift for secret santa that isn’t a bath bomb or chocolate, or remembering to move that smug-faced elf before going to bed (!), it’s safe to say the festive season brings with it a whole host of planning and preparation. And that’s all before you even leave the house!

Here at Planit Scotland, we want to help. We believe there are some choices that can make your life, and the running of your business, a little easier in the lead up to Christmas and the New Year.

One of those is ensuring your customers are kept up-to-date with all your latest news, restrictions and, in particular, your company’s festive opening times. We all understand the importance of a well-earned break this time of year, but a lot can be said for keeping your customers in the loop.

But how?

Google My Business

Like you, your customers are experiencing the chaotic rush of Christmas, so important information like opening times should be easily accessed across all communication platforms.

Keeping your Google My Business (and Bing Places)  information up-to-date is a quick and easy way to ensure your customers know when they can visit or get in contact with your business.

In a global survey, Google found that 74% of in-store shoppers who had searched online before visiting a store had searched for information that included opening hours and wait times.

Social Media

Did you know, the average UK user spends 110 minutes per day on social media platforms, meaning your customers are likely to use this method to find out information about your business?

By ensuring you have up-to-date information on your social platforms, you are letting your customers know that they can rely on you to keep them informed which in turn, builds on their loyalty, trust and the value they feel towards your business as a supporter.

By keeping your customers informed you are showing them that you care by putting their needs first – which is not only good customer service but good business.

Your Website

Of course, we can’t forget your business’ website. As your customers’ first port of call, it is important that you use this space to highlight any changes you might have when it comes to your business, especially when you intend to open and close over the festive period.

It might seem like an obvious fix, but with all the chaos of Christmas and new year, we realise that even the simplest of things can slip our minds!

We know our clients have so much to offer their customers this time of year, so we want to make sure that no one feels left out in the cold this December. Plan ahead to make sure you and your customers have a very merry ‘well informed’ Christmas – and if you need a little helping hand, be sure to reach out to us!
